Ivan Bartoš is a long-time chairman of the Czech Pirate Party, he was already at its inception in 2009. Since autumn 2017 he has been a member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, this mandate he defended in 2021. For four years he held the position of Chairman of the Committee on Public Administration and Regional Development in the Chamber of Deputies, in addition to this area he also dealt with the issue of digitization. Ivan Bartoš was born in Jablonec nad Nisou, North Bohemia. At the age of seventeen he went to study in the United States of America, where he successfully graduated. Subsequently, he also passed the Czech school-leaving examination in his hometown at the U Balvanu Grammar School. At the age of nineteen he began studying at two universities in Prague: theology at the Hussite Theological Faculty and information studies and librarianship at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. Eventually, he decided to focus more on information studies, in which he also received a major doctorate. During his studies, he also returned to America once again, where he spent one semester at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Orleans. He has worked professionally in several Czech and multinational companies in the field of information technology, for example for Newton IT, Monster Worldwide, T-Mobile and started the Job Portal Air Jobs. He is married and has two children. He is fluent in English, French and Russian.
