Jiří Horecký

President, Union of Employers' Associations of the Czech Republic (Czech Republic)

Jiří Horecký has worked in social services as director of a non-profit and then contributory organization since 1999. In 2007, he was elected as President of the Association of Social Service Providers and has held this position full-time since 2008. In 2013, he became President of the Union of Employers' Associations of the Czech Republic. Since 2016 he has been the President of EAN (European Ageing Network). In 2023 he was re-elected for the period 2023-2027. At the end of 2021 he was elected as President of the Global Ageing Network. He is the recipient of the 2007 Social Services Personality of the Year Award. He is a member of the Council for Economic and Social Agreement, the Government Council for the Elderly and Ageing, the Government Council for Public Administration, the Government Council for Drug Policy Coordination, the Quality Council of the Czech Republic, the Council for Mental Health, a member of the Accreditation Commission for Higher Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education, and a member of the IFA (International Federation on Ageing). In 2013-2017 he served as an advisor to the Minister, later Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 scientific articles, chapters in scientific literature or studies and analyses. He is a member of the editorial boards of the journals Sociální služby, Listy sociální práce, Zdravotnictví a medicína.
