Dr. Margarita Konaev is Deputy Director for Analysis and Research Fellow at Georgetown's Center for Security and Emerging Technologies (CSET), specializing in military applications of artificial intelligence and Russian military innovation. She is also an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security and a non-resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council. Previously, she was a non-resident fellow at the Institute of Modern Warfare at West Point, a postdoctoral fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a postdoctoral fellow at Perry World House at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining CSET, she was a Senior Principal in the Marketing and Communications Department at Gartner. Margarita's research on international security, technology, and urban warfare has been published by numerous academic and policy sources, including the Journal of Strategic Studies, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Lawfare, War on the Rocks, and others. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A. in conflict resolution from Georgetown University, and a B.A. from Brandeis University.
