Martin Úlovec

Digitalisation and Digital Education Officer, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (Czech Republic)

Martin Úlovec graduated in Sociology and Social Policy at the Charles University. From 2013 to 2018 he worked as an analyst and then head of the analytical department at the National Institute for Education (now the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic), where he focused on the relevance of education to the qualification needs of the labour market and on the issue of early departures from education. He was a member of the European Commission's working groups for monitoring the employability of graduates and developing tools for the recognition of qualifications. From 2019 to 2021, he worked at the Czech Pirate Party Parliamentary Club as an advisor and analyst for education and participated in the preparation of conceptual proposals in the field of education and training resulting from the priorities of the Czech Pirate Party. Since 2022, he has been working for the Pirates at the Ministry of Education, where he has been working on regional education and digital education. He also addresses the topic of digital education in cooperation with the Office of the Government as the Czech Republic's national coordinator for dialogue with the European Commission in the context of fulfilling the objectives of the European Digital Decade and as chairman of the newly established Committee for Digital Education under the Government Council for the Information Society.
