Dr. Matthias Sachs is Google’s Cybersecurity Policy Lead for Europe. He joined Google in February 2021, first working in Public Affairs and Trust & Safety roles, before taking his current post in September 2022. Prior he was at Microsoft since 2012, where his last role was Director Corporate Affairs for Central and Eastern Europe. He started his career as political advisor to a Member of Parliament of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, followed by stints in the political consultancy business. He earned his doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Cologne, where he also obtained a master’s degree in Political Science, History and German Philology.<br>
