Vladimír Mařík was the founder and first head of the Department of Cybernetics of CTU FELU - EU Centre of Excellence in 1999-2013. Since 2013 he is the founder and director, later since 2018 the scientific director of CIIRC CTU. In 2011-2015 he was and now again since 2018 a member of the RVVI, and since 2021 a Vice-Chairman of the RVVI. Since 2009 he has also been the Chairman of the Board of CertiCon, a.s. He is interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning and applications of artificial intelligence in industrial and medical practice. He is currently the principal investigator of the EU research project RICAIP (50 million EUR) focused on the implementation of Industry 4.0 ideas in distributed manufacturing environments. He is co-author of 5 US patents and author of more than 140 scientific publications, co-editor and co-author of 16 books.
