25 May 2023

In 2022, the Czech Republic ranked tenth in the world in the number of cyber attacks. Meanwhile, cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and require cybersecurity experts with specialized skills and knowledge.

Concerns about cyber threats are a frequent barrier for governments, businesses and organizations to take full advantage of the opportunities of digitalization. However, cybersecurity has long struggled with a shortage of experts. This poses a major challenge for both the public and private sectors, leading to financial losses, disruption of critical infrastructure, and disclosure of sensitive information. How can we motivate more people to apply for roles in this field?

The forthcoming new law on cyber security is also another challenge. In this context, it is worth mentioning the question of whether we have enough experts to oversee proper implementation.
